Ultrasound Tech Job Summary And Responsibilities
As an Ultrasound Tech, you will perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations, providing essential imaging for accurate diagnoses and patient care.
- Perform diverse ultrasound procedures for various patient populations.
- Prepare patients, acquire and process optimal images, recognize and document pathology.
- Maintain equipment, adhere to safety protocols, and collaborate with radiologists.
- Communicate findings and preliminary results to physicians.
Daily responsibilities include managing the patient schedule across inpatients, outpatients, and ER, managing technical and administrative duties, and ensuring equipment performance.
Job Requirements- Graduate of a formal diagnostic medical ultrasound program or 1 year on-the-job experience in diagnostic medical ultrasound, upon hire.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support - CPR certificate, upon hire.
- One of the following to be obtained upon hire or within 12 months of hire:
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Adult Echo
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Fetal Echo
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Pediatric Echo
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Abdomen
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Breast
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Fetal Echo
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Neurosonology
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer OB/GYN
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Pediatric Sono
- Registered Cardiac Electr (RCES)
