Job Overview
A Medical Assistant supports healthcare providers by performing both administrative and clinical duties to ensure efficient operation of a medical office or clinic. Responsibilities include preparing exam rooms, recording patient histories and vital signs in electronic health records, performing basic laboratory tests and procedures such as phlebotomy and EKGs, administering medications under supervision, sterilizing instruments, assisting with patient education, greeting patients, scheduling appointments, managing check‑in and check‑out processes, handling phone calls and prescription refills, verifying insurance, processing referrals, maintaining accurate medical records, and managing supplies.
Qualifications- High school diploma
- Completion of a medical assistant program
- Relevant certifications such as CMA or RMA (preferred)
- CPR/BLS training
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Proficiency with EHR systems
- Patient‑centered approach
- Adherence to HIPAA
- Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced clinical environment
