Position: Campus Card Systems Analyst 4 (hybrid)

Hiring Range

Salary range: $115,000 - $140,000. The range accounts for experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience and are rarely at the top of the range.

Job Closing Date

About the Job

Reporting to the Identity & Access Management Manager, the Campus Card Systems Analyst leads the design, implementation, and support of enterprise campus card and access management solutions at UC Merced, with a primary focus on Card operations (CSGold). The role supports student, admin, and auxiliary services such as dining, housing, parking, facilities, and other campus operations, ensuring secure and scalable system performance across the institution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply advanced business analysis concepts to identify, evaluate, and define complex systems scope and objectives. Work with SQL, PL/SQL, Java, Web Services (SOAP/RESTful), XML, Excel Templates, Workflow, SFTP, and serve as a liaison with SAAS solutions (CSGOLD, Illumia, Cash Net, Canvas, Star Rez, NuPark) to integrate via API. Report project status and resolve technical problems.
  • Demonstrate competency in selecting tools, methods, and techniques to obtain results and troubleshoot complex applications with multiple integrations.
  • Collaborate across Information Technology, campus, and UC on projects, taking roles as project lead, developer, analyst, tester. Communicate issues clearly and train/develop other team members. Use Service Now, Jira, and other organizational tools. Support production, upgrades, changes, and user support requests via on‑call rotation. Create and maintain functional documentation (BP080, BR100) and technical documentation (MD050, MD070). Lead cross‑functional teams to address complex business or system issues, initiate and document work‑process changes, set technical requirements for complex specifications.
  • Perform highly complex setups, configurations, and analysis of business and user needs; document requirements and translate into system and process specifications in Campus Card, Campus Access Management, and Safety. Serve as a cross‑module integration project coordinator. Review and test new functionality, patches, and releases prior to deployment. Evaluate customized solutions and develop collaborative approaches with business teams to maximize CsGold functionality and minimize customizations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Information Technology.
  • 4 years of progressively responsible related experience in Campus Card, Lock and Access/physical access security management.
  • At least 4 years working in a complex IT organization with demonstrated knowledge of information technology systems and practices.
  • 6 years of experience working with financial student systems in an enterprise applications team for an information technology organization.
  • Advanced knowledge of business and process analysis functions.
  • Functional and technical design and configuration experience with CSGold Access Management, CSGold Student , and CSGold Platform.
  • Experience managing finance/student‑IT related projects, coordinating with project committees, and analyzing work streams (including RICE items, design, testing, documentation, training, and implementation).
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of accounting, housing, physical access management, and student, staff, and faculty lifecycle principles.
  • Proficiency in use‑case modeling, user‑story creation, and narrative documentation.
  • Working knowledge of CSGold and Micros POS, business processes, housing access and residential life workflows, SQL, PL/SQL, and report development.
