The University of California, Merced is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position.

Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience. The salary or hourly range the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $72,800- $91,000.

About the Job

The Associate Director (AD) of Residence Education for Resident Life & Conduct Response at University of California, Merced plays a pivotal role in enhancing the on-campus living experience for our students. Under the general direction of the Director of Residence Education, this position oversees departmental administrative and student development processes, student conduct and incident report processing within the department, leading staff recruitment, training, enhancing procedural documentation, and supporting assessment practices.

The AD of Residence Education will be responsible for supervising a team of up to four live-on coordinators, fostering a supportive and inclusive area of residential communities, and promoting the academic and personal growth of our students. This position is a full-time, live-off position with occasional evening and weekend responsibilities and will serve in a mid-level administrative on-call rotation. This position requires responsibility for supervising, directing, and evaluating the work of subordinate employees, and exercising independent judgment in the administration of department policies and procedures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES GENERAL ADMINISTRATION
  • Assist with the tracking and enhancement of administrative policies and procedures carried out within the Residence Education department.
  • Create and maintain strong working relationships with campus partners within and outside of the Division of Student Affairs.
  • Represent the Residence Education department in campus-wide and system-wide meetings and discussions.
  • Collaborate to support room changes, work orders, mail, and other administrative processes carried out by the Residence Education department.
