Description
Great opportunity available for an Entry-Level Rewind Operator on 2nd shift at our Merced, CA facility! This role is ideal for someone looking to start or grow a career in manufacturing or printing. Training will be provided.
Schedule- 2nd Shift: Monday–Friday, 1:30 PM – 10:00 PM
- Training:
First 30 days on 1st shift, Monday–Friday, 5:30 AM – 2:00 PM
- Base Pay: $17.00–$25.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications with CEO Incentives
- Overtime:
Mandatory weekly overtime may be required, including up to 4 hours before or up to 4 hours after the scheduled shift, depending on production needs including weekends - Shift Differential: 2nd shift employees are eligible for a 6% differential applied to the base hourly rate
As a Rewind Operator, you will assist with operating rewind machinery to convert large rolls from the press into smaller, finished rolls according to customer specifications. You will follow job tickets, inspect product quality, and perform general production tasks to ensure accurate and on-time delivery to our customers.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities- Review job tickets and work instructions with guidance from a supervisor
- Set up and operate rewind machines (training provided)
- Break down large press rolls into finished customer rolls
- Inspect labels and rolls for quality, consistency, and defects
- Perform roll splices following company procedures with supervisor verification
- Verify core and product for accuracy
- Package finished rolls into correct boxes and place them in designated areas
- Communicate any quality or production issues to supervisors or management
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Follow all company policies and safety regulations
- Perform other production-related duties as assigned
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Previous manufacturing, warehouse, or machine operation experience preferred but not required
- Printing or packaging experience is a plus, but not required
- Basic counting skills and basic math abilities (addition, subtraction, measurements, and quantities)
- Strong attention to detail
- Willingness to learn machinery and production processes
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Comfortable performing routine, hands-on tasks
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to stay organized while handling multiple jobs throughout the day
- Proactive mindset to identify and report issues or inconsistencies
- Standing, lifting, bending, crouching, and repetitive motions
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs with assistance
- Manufacturing/warehouse setting
- Exposure to dust and noise
- Temperatures may vary with outdoor conditions
- Pass a pre-employment drug test and participate in random drug screening
- Willing to attend required training sessions
- Safety glasses recommended
- Safety toe shoes required in production areas
