While reporting to the production shift supervisor, you will be responsible for working on the production line and ensuring the production of a quality product in a safe working environment.
Excellent attendance is crucial for the team to achieve success
. You must have the ability to work with various teams and have a good eye to spot defects in the product or process. We have the opportunity for long term career growth and promotions for employees that take pride in learning the process, working on a team and performing at a high level.

• Work at a fast pace
• Remove product from the line and visually inspect to assure quality standards
• Maintain a safe, clean and organized work area
• Assist with machine set‑up procedures
• Ensure correct paper is set up
• Assist with starting of machine and monitor operational problems
• Perform all duties in support of Sonoco’s quality and safety policies
• Help out in other departments as needed, including but not limited to palletizing, labeling and warehouse areas

• At least 1 year in a manufacturing/warehouse environment (field work is okay)

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Reliable, with good initiative, committed, and quality focused
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed
• Ability to work effectively with a team in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to read and understand manufacturing instructions
• Perform repetitive duties, including going up and down stairs and standing for long periods
• Work quickly while maintaining a high level of craftsmanship and attention to detail
• Must be willing to work outside of regular shift hours including weekends if production or customer demands require it
• Must be able to read a tape measure
