Job Summary
As the Laminator Operator you will operate a laminating machine to bond two substrates using various adhesives, follow specifications on job tickets, verify product quality, and rewind rolls as needed to ensure proper ink drying or roll profile.
Responsibilities- Review job work instructions, tickets and set up the lamination machine for the job, selecting adhesive type, quantity to run, number of copies, raw material, adhesive location, coat weight, material orientation, bond strength, and more.
- Operate the machine to convert raw material and printed material into laminated rolls by following operating procedures.
- During lamination, identify and correct quality issues immediately, such as hard wrinkles, tunneling, weak bond levels, striations, adhesive skips, low treat levels, shrinkage, etc.
- Set up, monitor, and maintain adhesive mixture for water base/solventless 2‑part system; monitor back side treatment for every roll; fill out operator run conditions form for machine records.
- Follow company procedures for verification of product and visual inspection with supervisor/QC sign‑off.
- Verify information on roll history card and hot box log; ensure accuracy; place laminated rolls in the hot room.
- Communicate with Shift Supervisor, Production Manager, and/or Scheduler regarding issues with lamination, including over or under runs, lamination quality, or r questions.
- Maintain the work area and machines in a clean and orderly condition and follow the company’s safety regulations.
- Perform minor preventive maintenance tasks when needed.

- High School diploma or equivalent.
- At least one year of machine operation experience in a printing or packaging facility (preferred).
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to read and interpret a ruler.
- Good communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Motivated by task accomplishment and capable of performing routine tasks at a high level.
- Proactive in catching problems or inconsistencies and reporting them to management.
- Good organizational skills to manage multiple different labels each day.
- Lifting, sitting, standing, crouching, and associated repetitive tasks.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly and up to 75 lbs. occasionally with assistance.
- Pass a pre‑employment drug test and be subject to random drug screening.
- Regular exposure to dust and noise in the production environment.
- Warehouse environment temperatures may be influenced by outside temperatures.
- Safety glasses are required when handling liquids.
- Safety toe shoes and eye protection are required in the production areas.
