Location Status:
Work will be primarily performed at a designated field worksite location based out of a central Race Communications worksite. Occasional travel to and work from other Race offices or other off‑site locations may be required.

Compensation: $36 to $40 per hour.

Schedule:

5 Days/8 Hours.

Position Impact

The Network Facilities Technician is responsible for maintaining network infrastructure to support reliable and efficient communication services. With a focus on physical facilities and equipment, this role involves the installation, configuration, and maintenance of network components at various sites such as overhead framing, DC plants, cable stitching, relay racks, switches, servers, cable termination and testing. Respond to electrical outages, telecom disruptions, and security systems.

Collaborates closely with network engineers and other Race team members to ensure the seamless operation of telecommunications networks, troubleshoots issues, and collaborates solutions to optimize network performance and reliability.

Responsibilities
  • Perform and schedule preventative maintenance on network infrastructure.
  • Conduct routine maintenance tasks, inspections, and preventive maintenance activities on network infrastructure and facilities.
  • Install equipment in new and existing deployments of network facilities.
  • Respond promptly to network and facility‑related incidents, outages, and service disruptions.
  • Identify root cause of issues and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate closely within the department, including engineers, technicians, and administrators.
  • Assist during critical maintenance activities, including equipment upgrades, system migrations, or emergency repairs.
  • Carry out basic infrastructure projects aimed at expanding, upgrading, or optimizing network facilities.
  • Establish and maintain fiber and copper cross‑connects within network facilities.
  • Conduct OTDR testing to analyze optical fiber links.
  • Install and maintain DC power cabling infrastructure.
  • Create and maintain MOPs, SOPs, and EOPs.
  • Document network infrastructure configurations, facility layouts, equipment inventories, and maintenance procedures.
  • Generate reports on network and facility performance.
  • Travel extensively to various project sites, data centers, and network facilities.
Requirements
  • Eligibility for US employment without sponsorship.
  • Minimum of 18 years of age.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • 2+ years of experience as an installer in the telecom industry.
  • Minimum of 2 years working experience in network facilities (DC power plants, generators, air conditioning, ATS, fiber cross connects, fiber troubleshooting, data centers).
  • Proficiency with standard electrical and telecom testing tools (volt meter, OTDR, VFL, optical power meter).
  • Ability to lift up to 80 pounds safely.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Effective communication in English.

  • Possible exposure to dust, fumes, or airborne pathogens.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 80 pounds without assistance.
