YARTS Utility Worker

Transdev in Merced, CA is hiring a Utility Worker. The Utility Worker is required to perform basic vehicle servicing duties and maintain a clean, safe fleet. The role is customer service oriented, dedicated to safety, and requires working outdoors in varied conditions.

CBA Position

Salary: $17.94 - $22.70 per hour (Union Collective Bargaining Agreement pay scale)

• Maintain the cleanliness of fleet vehicles – interior and exterior
• Drive, maneuver, and park vehicles
• Fuel buses, replenish fluids, and log and record all fluid changes
• Download data from drive cameras, probe fare boxes
• Perform maintenance on shop areas, fueling stations, and related facilities
• Report maintenance issues to supervisor
• Other duties or special projects as required

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license for a minimum of 3 years
• Ability to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed
• Subject to DOT drug testing and physical exam if applicable (DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason)

• Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity – 100% of the job is performed outdoors, often alone and in remote locations
• Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk long distances on sloped, slippery, or uneven surfaces
• Push and pull objects up to 50 pounds, and lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. occasionally without assistance; bend, kneel, or crouch to reach items stored at ground level
• Withstand heavy traffic and exposure to dust, vehicle fumes, and noise
