Our client is a third-party firm that specializes in administering employer benefit plans. They aim to create a state-of-the-art, fully integrated benefit management platform to meet their clients' needs.

Compensation: $20/hr

Availability: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5pm.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Learn basic rules of eligibility and computer systems for verification of eligibility.
  • Use customer service skills, both written and telephonic, to provide helpful information, answer questions, and resolve complaints.
  • Complete written and verbal verification of eligibility.
  • Work with and understand COBRA, HIPAA, and FMLA laws and compliance requirements, including all participant notification requirements.
  • Process COBRA election forms.
  • Process enrollment/beneficiary forms and other documents used for maintaining member records.
  • Order medical I.D. cards.
  • Update participant and dependent eligibility with insurance carriers as required.
  • Research and resolve member and dependent eligibility issues.
  • Show continuous improvement and the ability to increase workload volume, work independently, and as a productive team member.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of basic office equipment.
  • Professional appearance with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, including effective communication with the public, union representatives, outside agencies, insurance carriers, and employers.
  • Dependable attendance record.
  • Initiative, good concentration, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to remain calm and positive in all communications.
  • Proven ability to review and edit documents accurately and timely.
  • At least 1 year of general office experience.
  • Proficiency with computer and phone systems to perform essential functions.
  • Previous experience with Microsoft Office software.
