On-Call Substitute Teachers: Grades TYPK

Summary

FASPS is accepting applications for on-call substitute teachers at all grade levels. Substitute teachers are responsible for implementing the mission and philosophy of the School. With a flexible schedule, substituting is an excellent way to work with great students and their community, and experience independent school teaching.

Please note that this is NOT a contracted, full-time position. This is an on-call position; work is contingent upon the school's needs, and we cannot sponsor visas for this position.

Applicants should have prior experience working with preschool, elementary, or middle school students, a desire to be part of an internationally diverse community of teachers and learners, and a willingness to adapt to the unique program at FASPS.

A Washington State teaching certificate is not required.

Required language:
English

Bilingual skills to include French are a plus.

The ability to be employed in the United States and to pass a background check are required.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Ability to work on an on-call basis
• Communicating effectively and in a timely manner with team members and administration regarding student concerns
• Familiarity with procedures for emergency situations
• Ability to work with an international and culturally diverse student population
• Acknowledging and planning for the diversity of abilities and learning styles within the classroom
• Encouraging the growth of the ethical character of students
• Imparting enthusiasm for learning to students
• Providing and maintaining a stimulating, safe environment

Salary: $25.00/hour
