IT Support, Systems Administrator
OVERALL OBJECTIVE OF JOB
This position is responsible for the oversight of the development, implementation, and usage of technology throughout the organization. Technology areas include: computers, laptops, notebooks, printers, servers, network and data/telecommunication equipment, software applications, cellular phones, web hosting/services, data reporting, email, virus/spam protection, security/access and other hardware and software utilized in the IT department and within the organization. This position is responsible for the overall management of the agency’s IT department including procurement, planning, training, project management, asset management, quality assurance/quality management, and release management.
This position also includes management of IT staff performing technical IT work. This position performs in a networked environment and involves technical application of IT principles to manage information for the agency in accordance with agency standards. Work is performed independently as assigned by the agency administrator. Work is reviewed for conformity to operating procedures, overall IT systems performance, and quality/effectiveness of IT service provided.
- Position will manage IT staff and IT interns
- Position will manage the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrades, backups/restoration of files/applications and the general support of all IT systems/software environments.
- Position will manage the daily support of all servers, PCs, laptops/tablets, operating systems, telephones, cellular phones, software applications, communications, and peripherals.
- Position will develop and implement IT policies and procedures for security, disaster recovery, backup/recovery and general standards and usage and support of technology-based equipment.
- Position will manage security/end-user access to electronic files/folders and applications including outside web applications.
- Position will develop standard operating procedures and best practices, including providing written protocols and guidance for IT staff and to end users.
- Position will ensure the creation and maintenance of all written documentation, including system and user manuals, license agreements and documentation of modifications and upgrades.
- Position will oversee end-user support services, including help desk and technical support services.
- Position will oversee technology contracted services including maintenance agreements/contracts and leases.
- Position will keep current with the latest technologies and determine what new technology solutions and implementations will best meet business and system requirements.
- Position will serve as the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act Officer for the organization (HIPAA) and will create/maintain all policies and procedures as required by the act.
- Will encounter confidential information, is responsible for adhering to all agency confidentiality policies, and must maintain strict consumer confidentiality as defined by state and federal law.
- Attend meetings, training and staffing as required.
- Performs other job-related duties as required and/or assigned.
The incumbent of this position reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer and will receive regular and ongoing individual supervision related to daily work duties and responsibilities. Position requires close working relationships and collaboration with key agency fiscal and program operations staff.
SUPERVISION GIVENThis position will provide supervision of assigned IT staff through individual and/or group meetings on an ongoing basis or as needed.
WORKING CONDITIONS- Work indoors in limited workspace with adequate lighting, temperature, and ventilation.
- Works with average indoor exposure to noise, stress, and disruptions.
- Normal indoor exposure to dust/dirt.
- Works in conditions of potential outbursts or disruptive behavior of clients.
- Travels periodically to other work sites as needed.
- Must possess ability to record, convey, and present information, explain procedures, and follow instructions.
- Must be able to sit for lengthy periods throughout the workday, with intermittent periods of standing, walking, bending, twisting, reaching, and driving as necessary to carry out essential job duties.
- Dexterity requirements range from simple to coordinated movements of fingers/hands; feet/legs; torso as necessary to carry out duties of job.
- Must be able to lift and/or carry items such as, laptops, personal briefcase, work related supplies and miscellaneous objects with a maximum weight of thirty (30) pounds.
- Must apply safe lifting and carrying practices. If an item weighs more than maximum weight limit, employee must make more than one trip to carry all necessary items to their vehicle and/or to or from designated worksites.
