The State of Connecticut Technical Education and Career System System (CTECS) is hiring for a Carpentry Instructor (THS Instructor - Initial) to join our professional education team at H.C. Wilcox Technical High School, located in Meriden, CT.

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS

* SCHEDULE:

first shift, full time (35 hours per week) Monday through Friday.

* LOCATION:

H.C. Wilcox Technical High School, located in Meriden, CT.

* SALARY: VS01 starting salary, derived from the State Vocational Federation of Teachers.

* ACADEMIC CALENDAR: CTECS follows a ten-month academic calendar (188 days per year.)

CONNECTICUT TECHNICAL HIGH SCHOOL SYSTEM

For over 100 years, CTECS has been the leading force in Career Technical Education (CTE) in the State of Connecticut. CTECS operates 17 diploma-granting technical high schools, one technical education center and two airframe mechanics and aircraft maintenance programs. The school system provides a direct employment pipeline for high school students and adult learners.

YOUR ROLE

To be considered for this position, the person in role will possess:

* Minimum of eight (8) years of relevant, varied, hands-on Carpentry experience.

* Experience must encompass all areas specified in the program description in order to effectively teach the approved carpentry curriculum. For a detailed explanation, please reference the Carpentry Program Description.

* Formal education (college or technical institutes) may count for up to two years of overall trade experience. Credit should be awarded only for coursework directly related to carpentry. Transcript review should determine the portion of study devoted to the trade and apply credit proportionately.

* Combined experience cannot be counted to obtain multiple endorsements. Requirement is eight years for each subject area.
