The Special Education Teacher supports students across Pre‑K through 12th grade by delivering specialized instruction and services aligned to IEPs. These roles help ensure students with diverse learning needs can access their education and make meaningful academic and social progress during a short‑term assignment.

    8:00 am–12:00 pm or 9:00 am–1:00 pm

Responsibilities
  • Provide specialized instruction and support to students with identified disabilities in accordance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Implement IEP goals, accommodations, and modifications to meet individual student needs.
  • Support students across multiple grade levels and disability categories in individual, small‑group, or classroom‑based settings.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and school staff to ensure continuity of services.
  • Monitor student progress and document services in compliance with state and federal special education requirements.
  • Participate in meetings and communicate effectively with school teams as needed during the assignment.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field.
  • Active or eligible Connecticut Special Education teaching certificate.
  • Experience working with students with special needs across various age groups.
  • Knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and special education regulations.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to adapt instruction and support strategies in a short‑term placement.
