Senior Project Scientist / Project Manager – Environmental Site Assessment and Remediation
We are looking to hire a mid to senior level professional with 10+ years of experience to work with the Environmental Site Assessment group. This position will involve the coordination, oversight, and management of all aspects of complex environmental assessment and remediation for various industrial and retail‑commercial sites.
This individual will be responsible for overseeing the project teams, interfacing with clients, technical writing and review of reports, and mentorship and training of junior staff. This position will include growth opportunities for additional responsibilities.
Responsibilities- Management and execution of daily project tasks associated with site investigation, remediation, and regulatory reporting
- Phase II/III site investigation, remediation planning, design, and scoping
- Procurement and coordination of various services including drillers, laboratories, and remedial contractors
- Proposal writing, estimates, and bid coordination
- CTDEEP RSRs/RBCRs and CTA reporting, filings, and permitting including but not limited to:
Environmental Condition Assessment Form (ECAF), Phase II/III Site Investigation Reports, Completion of Investigation (COI), Remedial Action Plans (RAP), Remedial Action Reports (RAR), Environmental Use Restriction (EUR) Applications, Verification Reports, and General Permits.
- BS Degree in Environmental Science, Geology, or related scientific or technical field.
- 10+ years of experience in conducting environmental site assessment investigations and remediation.
- Strong knowledge of Connecticut and Federal environmental regulations, including the CT RSRs/RBCRs, CTA, SCGD, TSCA, and pending changes/updates.
- Experience with Project or Phase/Task level management of Phase II/III ESA, Remedial Planning, and Remediation, including scheduling, budget tracking, and coordination with subcontractors, client representatives, and stakeholders.
- Knowledge and experience investigating emerging contaminants.
- Strong technical report writing skills with ability to draw conclusions and recommendations for next steps in achieving applicable site objectives and milestones.
- Ability to draft proposals that include technical scope and fees.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
