Overview
Position: Professional Land Surveyor (PT Field Role)
Location: Meriden, CT
Remote Status: On-Site

ResponsibilitiesThe Professional Land Surveyor will:
- Operate survey instruments such as total stations, data collectors, GPS, and other standard survey equipment.
- Collect information required to carry out new surveys using source maps, previous survey data, photographs, computer records, and other relevant information.
- Compile information necessary to stake projects for construction using engineering plans.
- Conduct surveys to determine locations of natural features and man-made structures on the Earth's surface, underground, and underwater using electronic distance measuring equipment and other surveying instruments.
- Direct and supervise day-to-day work of subordinate members of surveying parties, lay out grids, determine horizontal and vertical controls, maintain survey equipment and vehicles, and perform other duties as assigned.
- 5+ years of surveying experience with a strong working knowledge of surveying equipment;
- High School Diploma or equivalent; AAS in Surveying a plus;
- Valid Professional Land Surveyor License required;
- Detail oriented, with the ability to perform basic mathematical calculations;
- Ability to review/understand written civil construction and architectural plans and specifications;
- Availability to work overtime as needed, with the ability to travel for overnight assignments;
- Possession of or ability to obtain OSHA 10 Hour Construction Safety Certification and applicable scaffolding training certifications;
While performing the essential functions, the employee may be required to remain stationary for extended periods, handle documents, materials, and equipment, process manual and computer-generated reports, and communicate via corporate email and telephone systems. The role may involve moving around on the job site, including uneven terrain and hazardous conditions (woods, water, snow, etc.). The employee must frequently lift and/or move equipment up to 25 lbs and occasionally up to 75 lbs.
Occasional long periods of driving may be required. Close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus are required to detect non-conformities. Substance abuse testing may be required in accordance with project requirements, US DOT Regulations, and/or Company policy. Pay Range: $45.00 - $67.00 / hour
