Job SummaryThe Investor Accountant serves as the direct contact for all investors/master servicers, providing accurate and timely reporting in compliance with investor guidelines. Completes custodial account reconciliations in compliance with investor and corporate guidelines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Completes all required accounting reports and remittances accurately and within the allotted time frames for each investor/master servicer. Working knowledge of investor contracts and guidelines.
- Provides the accurate and timely reconciliation of various custodial, general ledger and operating accounts within Servicing. Completes the set-up of new custodial accounts for all new investors/master servicers.
- Serves as liaison between internal business units and the investors/master servicers. Works with investors/master servicers to analyze and address problem resolution and exception processing.
- Completes funds movements including wires and cash transfers at the loan level.
- Responsible for MERS portfolio reconciliation, including reviewing MERS reports daily and resolving discrepancies.
- Responsible for Service Release loans sales, balancing the sale, ensuring reporting and remitting requirements are adhered to.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Associates degree or equivalent work experience required.
- Minimum of two years work experience in accounting and reconciliation.
- Work experience in mortgage loan accounting and reconciliation preferred.
- Working experience with reading, understanding and interpreting servicing contracts preferred.
- Proficient skill level with Microsoft Excel.
- Experience working with other Microsoft Windows applications.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Working knowledge of agency reporting and remitting requirements.
- Strong mathematical skills.
- Ability to analyze and interpret data.
- Detail oriented.
- Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Displays strong organizational skills and manages time effectively.
Work is typically performed in a standard office environment.
