IT Business Systems Analyst

Summary:

IT Business Systems Analyst to support, maintain, and continuously improve the company's ERP system, reporting tools, database environment, and business applications. This position serves as the primary resource for Microsoft Dynamics NAV, SQL databases, reporting solutions, and system integrations. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical and analytical skills, a solid understanding of manufacturing business processes, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement technology solutions that improve operational efficiency.

Essential Job Functions:

ERP System Administration and Support Administer, support, and maintain Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision) ERP system.

Assist with ERP implementations, upgrades, testing, and deployment activities.

Configure system settings and maintain master data files.

Develop and manage data configuration packages and system setups.

Analyze business processes and recommend system improvements.

Troubleshoot and resolve ERP system issues through analysis and debugging.

Support manufacturing operations through effective utilization of ERP manufacturing modules.

Collaborate with department managers to optimize workflows and system functionality.

Electronic Data Interchange (EDI)
Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot EDI transactions.

Support processing of EDI transaction sets including:810 Invoice
850 Purchase Order
856 Advance Ship Notice (ASN)997 Functional Acknowledgement Coordinate with customers, vendors, and third-party providers to resolve EDI issues.

Assist with implementation and testing of new EDI trading partner connections.

Database Administration Maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases and related environments.

Perform database backup, restoration, and recovery procedures.

Manage SQL Server instances and monitor database performance.

Maintain database security, user access, and permissions.

Ensure data integrity and availability across business applications.

Reporting and Data Analytics Develop, maintain, and enhance business reports using SQL queries, SSMS, Jet Reports, and Microsoft Report Writer.

Create ad-hoc queries and data extracts to support operational and management reporting needs.

Design reports utilizing joins, subqueries, date functions, views, and stored procedures.

Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting solutions that support decision-making.

Provide data analysis and reporting support to business stakeholders.

Microsoft Report Writer Administration Design and maintain reports using native report-writing tools, SQL views, and stored procedures.

Create and manage report parameters, matrix reports, and tablix reporting structures.

Maintain report subscriptions and automated report distribution.

Manage report servers, report portals, and report security.

Develop drill-down and sub-report functionality as needed.

Jet Reports Administration Maintain and modify existing Jet Reports.

Develop new reports utilizing Jet Report Designer tools and report wizard functionality.

Create and maintain scheduled reports using Jet Scheduler.

Support users with report development and data retrieval requirements.

Application Development and Integrations Support and maintain business application integrations utilizing web services and OData technologies.

Develop and maintain Microsoft Power Apps solutions when applicable.

Assist with troubleshooting and enhancements to internally developed applications.

Support integration initiatives between ERP and third-party systems.

Technical Support and Continuous Improvement Serve as a liaison between business users and technology solutions.

Document system configurations, procedures, and technical specifications.

Identify opportunities to automate processes and improve operational efficiency.

Participate in IT projects and strategic technology initiatives.

Provide user training and support as required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision) ERP system administration and support.

Understanding of manufacturing business processes and ERP manufacturing modules.

Proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server administration and database management.

Advanced SQL query writing skills including joins, subqueries, views, stored procedures, and data analysis.

Experience using SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS).Experience designing and maintaining reports using Microsoft Report Writer.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with EDI transaction processing and troubleshooting.

Knowledge of OData and web services integrations.

Experience with Jet Reports and Jet Scheduler.

Experience developing applications using Microsoft Power Apps.

Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio and  with Retail Link and Decision Reports.

Experience in a food manufacturing or manufacturing environment.
