• Perform custodial tasks and maintain classrooms, offices, auditoriums, wards, kitchens, dining rooms and lavatories including outdoor areas
• Dust, mop, sweep, scrub, strip, wax and polish floors; shampoo carpets using appropriate equipment
• Wash, dust and polish glass and other surfaces
• Collect and dispose of trash and recycling in appropriate containers
• Report needs for repairs and perform minor maintenance
• Inspect building for damage and report conditions to supervisor
• Perform related duties as required

• Any experience and training that provides the knowledge, skills and abilities listed above
• Preferred: experience performing custodial work in a school
• Preferred: experience waxing and polishing floors with floor polishers and buffers
• Preferred: experience removing snow and ice from stairways and walkways around large buildings
• Preferred: experience performing minor maintenance on tools and equipment
• Preferred: experience with deep cleaning and disinfecting large facilities

• Must have adequate physical strength, stamina, agility and visual and auditory acuity
• May be required to lift moderate to heavy weights
• A physical examination may be required

Incumbents may be required to possess and retain appropriate current licenses, permits, and/or certifications.
