Manufacturing Engineer — Precision Aerospace Machining | Meriden, CT (Onsite)

Salary: $75,000 - $130,000 per year

  Work directly with production on development projects from prototype to release

• Determine manufacturing methods, planning and sequencing, fixturing, raw materials, and inspection methods; define work performed by outside vendors
• Provide detailed quotes for precision‑machined components
• Take a hands‑on role in the manufacturing process of development projects alongside production
• Provide process engineering support to production, ensuring accurate and detailed manufacturing process instructions and feedback
• Apply job standards to Engineering master routings for shop work
• Input routing data into the database to calculate operation times and document detailed procedures for each manufacturing operation
• Use CAD (NX) software to sketch blueprints, operation sheets, and set‑up sheets for internal and outside vendors; develop fixtures and processes
• Program NC toolpaths using Mastercam or Unigraphics
• Multi‑task across concurrent development and production support priorities

• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, or 5–10 years of related experience/training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Proficiency with GD&T, technical drawings, and NC programming using Mastercam or Unigraphics
• Broad knowledge of machine tools and their capabilities for properly routing precision components
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret manufacturing drawings, technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents
• Ability to respond to inquiries from employees, regulatory agencies, and the business community

• Experience programming CNC VTL & milling machines, including set‑up and first‑part runs to release development to production; tool room experience
• Experience using PPAP to evaluate incoming jobs
