CNC Machinist--All Shifts
Meriden, CT, US
Mid Level experience. Salary: $30 - $40 per hour.
Job Description- Set up and operate 3, 4, and 5-axis CNC mills and lathes
- Machine complex aerospace-grade components to tight tolerances
- Interpret advanced blueprints, prints, and GD&T callouts
- Adjust tooling, offsets, feeds, speeds, and machining parameters
- Perform in-process inspections and final quality checks
- Use micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision tools
- Troubleshoot machining issues and optimize setups for efficiency
- Reduce scrap and rework through precision-focused execution
- Collaborate with engineering and programming teams on process improvements
- Maintain safe and clean work area standards
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Technical machining certificate a plus
- Minimum 3+ years of CNC machining experience in precision manufacturing or aerospace environments
- Strong experience operating and setting up multi-axis mills and lathes
- Experience with 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis machining centers
- Ability to read blueprints and interpret GD&T confidently
- Experience with Fanuc, Haas, Okuma, Makino, Mitsubishi, or similar CNC controls
- Strong inspection background using precision measurement equipment
- Proven ability to machine tight-tolerance components with minimal scrap
- Strong troubleshooting skills for tooling, offsets, setups, and machine issues
- Detail-oriented with strong quality standards
