The Chemical Technician plays a key role in meeting customer orders and is responsible for the safe preparation, manufacture, and documentation of all product lines in a manufacturing/production environment, while maintaining all quality and safety protocols.
The ideal candidate will have worked with chemicals in some capacity and can work a night shift schedule (2:30 pm - 11:00 pm, Monday - Friday).
- Monitor stock of raw materials, supplies and finished product across multiple product lines
- Prepare various chemicals for manufacture, repackaging or testing processes following standard operating procedures
- Operate, calibrate and maintain manufacturing equipment such as scales, particle counters and dispensing equipment
- Perform routine calculations as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation including records, logs and batch records
- Create batches of finished products according to quality standards
- Contribute to continuous process improvement
- Follow ISO 9001 and Quality procedures for manufacturing, labeling, material approval/release, etc.
- Properly collect and label waste generated during manufacturing processes
- Assist in troubleshooting manufacturing processes and quality issues
Ensure compliance with environmental, health and safety regulations
- Attention to detail for measurement accuracy, materials handling
- Focus on safety and quality
- Strong analytical skills for problem solving and equipment troubleshooting
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Office
- Basic computer skills
- Knowledge of SDS
- High School Diploma
- 1 – 3 years in manufacturing/production environment; working with chemicals preferred
- Ability to excel in a fast paced, production environment
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
