Role Summary
We are seeking a Certified Nurse Midwife for our Women’s Health and Prenatal Care Center at the Community Health Center of Meriden. The CNM will provide comprehensive prenatal, gynecological, and contraceptive care while working in an integrated team and collaborating with our contracted OB/GYN practice for intrapartum and after‑hours coverage.
Responsibilities- Provide high‑quality routine prenatal care according to ACOG and ACNM standards, including screening, health maintenance, anticipatory guidance, and collaborative care for patients with psychosocial issues.
- Deliver comprehensive care for prenatal patients with medical conditions such as chronic/gestational diabetes, asthma, hypertension, preeclampsia, etc., following guidelines from the American College of Obstetrics & Gynecology, American College of Nurse‑Midwives, and the American Diabetes Association.
- Collaborate with the OB/GYN group responsible for 24/7 call coverage and all labor/deliveries.
- Work closely with other team members to accomplish goals, objectives, and responsibilities.
- Ensure compliance with CHC standards, Joint Commission, state licensure, OSHA/EOC, safety/infection control, quality care audits, and DPH requirements.
- Adhere to CHC Electronic Health Record charting and documentation standards.
- Participate in daily huddles, periodic team meetings, and shared responsibility for improving outcomes with nursing and medical assistants.
- Commit to professional development through continuing education activities.
- Licensed or license‑eligible in the state of Connecticut.
- Board certified as a Certified Nurse Midwife; master’s degree or DNP required.
- Minimum of 5 years clinical experience as a CNM, including prenatal, routine gynecology, and contraceptive management.
- Current CPR certification.
- Commitment to caring for underserved populations.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
- Experience with Centering Pregnancy model is a plus.
