12 Hour Night Shift, Full‑time, 36 scheduled weekly hours

• Manages care delivery for patients throughout their stay, achieving quality outcomes and timely discharge.
• Utilizes the nursing process: assessment, planning, diagnosing, implementation, and evaluation.
• Coordinates care provided by other professionals and delegates appropriate tasks.
• Provides selected aspects of physical care within scope of practice based on patient acuity.
• Documents and communicates patient response to care, resource consumption, and anticipated needs during each tour of duty.
• Records comprehensive data pertaining to patient health and situation.
• Assesses physical and developmental needs, analyzes data, identifies problems, and confirms them with patient and family.
• Documents expected outcomes and develops individualized plans of care.
• Incorporates clinical pathways and patient/family input into care plans.
• Implements interventions, administers medications, and uses evidence‑based practice.
• Maintains awareness of patient comfort, safety, and education needs.
• Evaluates progress toward outcomes and adjusts care as required.
• Collaborates with the healthcare team and participates in quality improvement activities.
• Participates in ongoing educational activities and maintains records of competency.
• Provides leadership, supports a healthy work environment, and serves as a patient advocate.

• Associate’s degree in Nursing (required).
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred; must obtain within eight years of hire.
• Licensed Registered Nurse in good standing in the state of Michigan.
• BLS certification required by completion of core orientation.
• Critical Care or Advanced Life Support certifications may be required (unit specific).
• Bronson South Haven specific:
  Emergency Department nurses must complete SALT triage, ESI triage, and NIH Stroke Scale within 90 days of hire;
  Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and Trauma Nursing Core Course within six months.
• Labor & Delivery:
  Electronic Fetal Monitoring certification through PQF or NCC within six months of completing intermediate fetal monitoring.
• Current driver’s license in Michigan and proof of insurance required for BAH.

• The registered nurse collects comprehensive data pertinent to the patients’ health or situation.
• Assesses the patient’s physical and developmental needs.
• Analyzes assessment data to identify appropriate patient needs.
• Documents nursing history and age‑appropriate needs/strengths.
• Reviews vital signs to detect deviations from normal.
• Identifies patient problems through data analysis.
• Uses assessment data to determine patient problems.
• Confirms problems with patient and family when appropriate.
• Documents expected outcomes and plans of care.
• Utilizes patient/family input during outcome definition.
• Co‑ordinates discharge planning using available continuum of care.
• Develops a plan prescribing interventions to attain expected outcomes.
• Incorporates clinical pathways when appropriate.
• Implements the identified plan; administers medication and treatment per policies.
• Utilizes evidence‑based interventions specific to the patient’s plan.
• Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs.
• Initiates patient education and coordinates its implementation.
• Manages the care plan, organizes delegation, and evaluates effectiveness.
• Evaluates progress toward attainment of expected outcomes.

• Systematically evaluates quality and effectiveness of nursing practice.

• Release of working hours: 12‑hour night shift, full time.
• Chronic responsibilities related to Scrub RN duties, including preparation of procedure carts, equipment verification, and post‑procedure documentation.
• HDU department only: additional on‑call requirements beyond regular scheduled hours.
