Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Department (ED)
Location: BSH Bronson South Haven
Compensation: Up to $20,000 Sign‑On Bonus and up to $10/hour Night Shift Differential
Position OverviewJoin Bronson South Haven Hospital's Emergency Department and provide compassionate, patient‑centered care to individuals with urgent and emergent medical needs in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.
What You'll Do- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using the nursing process
- Perform rapid assessments and prioritize care based on patient acuity
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with clinical standards
- Monitor patient condition and respond quickly to changes
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge needs
- Delegate appropriate tasks within scope of practice
- Accurately document patient care and outcomes
- Associate Degree in Nursing required
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; must obtain within eight (8) years of hire
- Current Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
- BLS required upon completion of orientation
- Within 90 days of hire: SALT Triage, ESI Triage, NIH Stroke Scale
- Within 6 months of hire:
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) (required for full-time and part‑time RNs)
- Strong critical thinking and clinical decision‑making skills
- Effective verbal, written, and electronic communication skills
- Ability to interpret clinical data and develop appropriate plans of care
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced emergency care environment
- Frequent standing, walking, lifting, and patient handling
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work in an environment requiring sustained concentration and attention to detail
