Clinical Education Specialist – Operating Room

• Advance nursing practice across the enterprise through education, mentorship, and integration of evidence-based standards
• Identify opportunities to enhance nursing performance, standardize procedures, and implement best practices
• Implement theory-based professional practices and evaluate, develop, and promote care plans
• Serve as a resource and mentor to nursing staff
• Maintain current curricula, policies, and procedures in compliance with regulatory standards
• Generate data-driven plans using research methods to improve clinical practice
• Provide clinical leadership, education, ongoing evaluation, and direct observation of nursing practice
• Support nursing leadership in anticipating educational needs based on patient outcomes and nurse performance data
• Provide point-of-care clinical support to nursing staff
• Collaborate with the Professional Development team on orientation, onboarding, competency, RN Residency, and Fellowship programs
• Support integration of Magnet standards into the nursing infrastructure

• BSN from an accredited school of nursing is required
• Masters of Nursing
• 3+ years of Operating Room and/or acute care/critical care RN experience required
• NYS and CT RN license and registration required
• AHA BLS, PALS, ACLS certification required
• Certification preferred, required within 6 months of hire

Demonstrates expertise in nursing practice through education, mentorship, and evidence-based standards, while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and enhancing nursing performance through data-driven strategies.
