Assistant Store Manager – New Store Opening
Location: 443 South Broad St, Meriden, CT 06450
Job Type: Full Time, Exempt (Bonus Eligible)
We are looking for an Assistant Store Manager to support curaleaf’s new store opening and day‑to‑day operations. The role requires flexible availability – weekdays, evenings, weekends, holidays, and occasional overnight shifts.
Responsibilities- Communicate proactively with Store Manager, District Manager, and cross‑functional partners to maximize revenue opportunities.
- Model selling behaviors aligned with brand culture and drive customer loyalty and financial performance.
- Monitor, coach, and develop team members to maintain high‑quality customer service.
- Supervise store operations, including opening, closing, shift changes, task delegation, and scheduling.
- Manage store cash controls – register counts, bank withdrawals, armored pickups, safe deposits, change orders, and bookkeeping.
- Analyze inventory trends, oversee stock levels, and coordinate ordering to avoid shortages or overstock.
- Maintain proficiency with systems such as registers and Leaf Logix.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, regulations, and safety requirements.
- Complete special assignments and assist with coverage or training at other locations as needed.
- Travel up to 25% of the time.
- Minimum 1 year of retail or customer‑service experience in a high‑paced environment.
- Minimum 1 year of retail supervisory experience.
- Strong business acumen and ability to achieve financial targets.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
- Experience in a heavily regulated industry.
- Strong leadership, salesmanship, and cash‑handling skills.
- Ability to work independently and exercise initiative in the absence of the Store Manager.
- Desire to learn continuously and share knowledge with a broad audience.
- Previous experience in the cannabis industry.
Stand, walk, talk, hear, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, use hands and fingers, and lift up to 25 pounds regularly. Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and climb, balance, or work in confined spaces. Requires clear vision at 20 inches or less. The role involves a professional retail environment with standard office equipment and potential allergens such as dust, pollen, and plant pathogens.
Compensation$55,000 – $61,000 USD
