DescriptionThe Idaho State Police (ISP) have two part‑time grant funded openings within the Meridian Bureau of Criminal Identification (BCI). These positions will work 19 hours per week with no benefits. Work schedule is Monday through Friday with some flexibility pre‑approved by the supervisor.
These positions are anticipated to last up to two years. The successful applicant will be required to complete a background investigation and polygraph examination. Applicants who have a household member or immediate family member that has ever been on any Sex Offender Registry are disqualified from this position.
Responsibilities- Update offender information in the Idaho Central Sex Offender Registry database
- Review and verify all incoming documents received by the state of Idaho for convicted sex offenders
- Respond to customers regarding policies, procedures, and Idaho Code
- Research a variety of sources for verification and proper determination
- Apply the law as it relates to sex offenders
Minimum requirements are typically met by 1 year of work‑related experience for all of the following.
- Monitoring a records system to identify and correct errors
- Researching a variety of sources to resolve problems
- Interpreting, explaining and applying regulations, laws, or complex policies to carry out assignments
- Entering and retrieving data using a computerized records system
- Using word processing software to create and modify documents
- Experience working in a law enforcement agency entering Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR), National Incident Based Reporting Systems (NIBRS), or National Crime Information Center (NCIC) data into computer‑based systems
- Experience working with sensitive or restricted data
- Ability to type 40 words per minute
