Assistant Project Manager - Electrical Construction

Responsibilities
  • Manage project documentation, including submittals, RFIs, and meeting minutes.
  • Oversee project activities assigned by the Project Manager—planning, coordinating, resolving problem areas, and ensuring compliance with company/project policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Maintain change orders, submittal, and document control logs and prepare required logs and other project documentation for construction meetings.
  • Prepare contract submittals and ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Create and issue subcontractor contracts.
  • Assemble and deliver Owner and Maintenance Manuals.
  • Ensure the project quality control plan is followed.
  • Interact with subcontractors to obtain correct documentation and drawings for Owner and Maintenance Manuals.
  • Keep the Warranty Log up to date.
  • Attend company/project meetings with clients, subcontractors, etc., and provide project management support.
  • Cooperate with and technically assist field personnel assigned to the area of responsibility.
  • Monitor other contractors’ activities and progress.
  • Create job information sheets and establish job files.
  • Prepare price change orders, project reports, and documentation.
  • Work with payroll to ensure accurate payroll information.
Qualifications
  • Knowledge of construction technology, scheduling, equipment, and methods.
  • Tactful with a professional demeanor and ability to interact effectively with managers, employees, vendors, and others.
  • Strong organizational, record‑keeping, and follow‑up skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated excellence in organization and time‑management skills.
  • Ability to identify and meet customers’ expectations and requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.);
    Oracle preferred.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, adapting to changing priorities.
  • Work under pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude.
  • Oral and written communication skills.
  • Self‑motivated, proactive, and an effective team player.
  • Effective professional interaction with all levels of employees, management, staff, vendors, clients, and others.
Required Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a construction‑related role (or equivalent combination of training, education, and experience).
Working Conditions

This position is performed primarily on active construction sites. The work includes sitting for extended periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, and bending. Work is conducted primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions, such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning. Noise level is typically low to medium. Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs. We fully comply with the ADA and applicable state law, including reasonable accommodation measures for qualified disabled applicants and employees.
