Construction Trades Program Assistant

To assist the primary instructor with practice and assessing for students enrolled in the Construction Trades program.

• Experience framing walls and roofing systems;
• Plan reading;
• Reading a tape measure;
• Roofing installation;
• Drywall, tape, and texture;
• Siding installation;
• Strong communication skills;
• Strong interpersonal skills;
• Organized, detail oriented;
• Self-motivated;
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment;
• Assist primary instructor to allow students to obtain/learn the skills and knowledge to successfully complete the Construction Trades classes;
• Supervise and observe students during skills labs;
• Focus on student instruction;
• Assist students through observational and participative experiences in skills labs;
• Collaborate effectively with students and staff within the school district;
• Communicate appropriate information clearly and in a timely manner.

Minimum requirements:

• Construction or shop experience using power tools common to construction;
• General carpentry experience;
• Valid Driver's License.

Evaluation yearly by supervisor.
