Role Description The High School Teacher:
Pre-Engineering 6–12 role is a full-time, on-site position located in Meridian,  educator in this role designs and delivers pre-engineering coursework for grades 6–12, including foundational concepts in engineering, technology, and applied STEM disciplines. Daily responsibilities include planning standards-based lessons, facilitating hands‑on projects and lab activities, assessing student learning, and providing timely feedback to support academic growth. The teacher collaborates with colleagues, counselors, and administrators to align curriculum, integrate career and technical education pathways, and support individual student needs.

Additional duties may include participating in professional development, maintaining accurate records, overseeing classroom safety and equipment, and engaging in school‑wide initiatives and parent/guardian communication.

Qualifications

• Ability to design and implement pre‑engineering and Civil Engineering & Architecture focused instruction for grades 6–12, including hands‑on, project‑based learning and basic lab management.
• Knowledge of PLTW is helpful.
• Strong classroom management and student engagement skills, with the ability to create an inclusive, safe, and supportive learning environment for diverse learners.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with students, families, colleagues, and administrators, including clear written and verbal communication.
• Skill in using educational technology and digital tools to enhance instruction, support engineering‑related activities, and manage classroom materials and assessments.
• Ability to use data and assessment results to inform instruction, differentiate learning, and monitor student progress toward course and district standards.
• Valid Idaho teaching certification (or eligibility for certification with industry experience) with appropriate endorsement for secondary CTE or related subject area.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in education, engineering, technology education, or a closely related field is helpful when seeking Limited Occupational Endorsent; advanced degrees or industry experience in engineering or technical fields are beneficial.
