WSP USA is currently searching for a Drafter for our Boise, e. Join our Power Delivery Team and be part of a growing organization that meets client objectives and solves challenges.

Takes part in providing local technical design and CAD support on projects to produce designs and specifications for planning, transportation, infrastructure, and technical services. Tasks may include generating CAD designs on various assigned aspects of projects of basic to moderate scale and/or complexity. Generates accurate and concise design phase deliverables such as reports, technical memoranda, design manuals, plans and profiles, models, sections, details, specifications, and material lists.

Ensures responsibilities are delivered with a level of quality that meets or exceeds industry standards.

• Develop working knowledge of Client/WSP CAD Standards and Compliance.

• Maintain a high level of drafting quality and efficiency in alignment with project scope and budget.
• Develop an understanding in both AutoCAD and Micro Station to support project requirements, which include:
  • Vicinity Maps
  • Structure List
  • Plan and Profiles
  • Phasing Drawings
  • Foundation Drawings
  • Structure Assembly Drawings
  • Permit and Crossing Drawings
  • Load and Design Drawings
• Through drafting assignments and project work, seek to gain a transmission line understanding beyond just the redline mark‑ups.
• Travel to client offices/field/vendor facilities as needed.
• Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
• Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

• High School Diploma.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant post‑education experience in discipline with prior drafting and design support experience.
• General awareness of drafting and design support principles, practices, processes, methods and techniques.
• General awareness of relevant codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record‑keeping requirements.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to a technical and non‑technical audience.
• Effective self‑leadership with attention to detail, ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, follow instruction, and comply with company policies.
• Ability to work independently under supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectives.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, technology, math principles, spreadsheets, and tools.
• Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
• Ability to work schedules conducive to project‑specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.
• Occasional travel may be required depending on project‑specific requirements.

• Associate degree or 1‑year certificate in drafting (or equivalent technical degree).
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant post‑education experience in discipline with prior drafting and design support experience.
• AutoCAD 2020‑2025 experience.
