We are excited to invite applications for the position of Senior / Principal Sediment Remediation Engineer or Scientist
. This role is part of our Sediment Remediation and Waterfront Redevelopment practice in our Pacific Northwest Branch, with offices located in Portland, OR, and Meridian, will be managing projects and personnel, ensuring technical excellence while providing your expertise in sediment remediation. This position is ideal for an experienced professional eager to lead innovative projects, including financial and technical evaluation, design, permitting, and construction phases for diverse industrial, institutional, and governmental clients.

Responsibilities- Managing complex technical projects and contributing to the growth of Geosyntec by engaging in business development and client management.
- Planning, implementing, and overseeing investigation and remediation projects while managing budgets, schedules, quality, and client satisfaction.
- Evaluating contaminated sites and developing tailored remediation approaches, including feasibility studies and detailed design plans.
- Leading the preparation of technical documents such as work plans and cost-benefit analyses.
- Overseeing remedial pilot tests and logistical aspects including vendor selection and field team supervision.
- Writing and reviewing technical reports, proposals, and other essential documentation.
- Building strong relationships with clients and stakeholders to foster trust-based interactions.
- Mentoring early career staff in project performance, cost management, and career development.
- Potentially conducting fieldwork, including site assessments, environmental sampling, and oversight of remediation operations.
- Travel to client and project sites as needed, utilizing personal, company, or rental vehicles.
- A Bachelor's degree in engineering (civil, chemical, or environmental preferred) or geology (required).
- An advanced degree is preferred, as well as professional registration (e.g., P.E. or P.G.).
- At least 8 years of direct environmental consulting experience in the Pacific Northwest region (10+ years preferred).
- A thorough understanding of CERCLA and other relevant state regulations.
- Proven success in managing and developing client relationships, coupled with strong leadership skills.
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced consulting environment, managing multiple projects and meeting strict deadlines.
- Excellent writing and communication abilities.
- The capability to conduct fieldwork and travel overnight as required.
- Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training (preferred) and compliance with health and safety training requirements.
- A valid U.S. driver's license and a clean driving record for business travel (required).
