The Electrical Superintendent is a senior leadership position responsible for providing strategic direction, technical oversight, and multi-project supervision across ESI’s most complex electrical projects. These projects encompass commercial, industrial, federal, and mission-critical environments. As the highest tier of field leadership within the Electrical Division, Electrical Superintendent ensures the successful execution of large-scale projects, oversees advanced electrical systems, and leads high-performing teams.

The ideal candidate will possess exceptional expertise in advanced electrical systems, controls, automation, SCADA integration, commissioning, and large-team management. This role is pivotal in driving operational planning, workforce development, quality assurance, and safety excellence across the organization.

This is a full-time traveling position
, that will be working on Federal/Government Projects, and a TS clearance is highly preferred

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

Leadership & Supervision

  • Provide senior leadership over multiple simultaneous electrical projects, including large-scale builds, industrial facilities, federal installations, and mission-critical environments.
  • Direct, mentor, and develop Superintendent 1 & 2 personnel, General Foremen, Foremen, Journeymen, and Apprentices, ensuring consistent application of ESI leadership standards and technical excellence.
  • Participate in division-level planning, including manpower forecasting, advancement pathways, training initiatives, and succession planning.
  • Represent the Electrical Division in executive-level coordination meetings, owner interactions, and high-level project planning discussions.
  • Lead constructability reviews, schedule sequencing, high-risk activity planning, and resource distribution across projects.
  • Evaluate project staffing needs and assist in selecting, assigning, and developing future leaders within the electrical workforce.
  • Provide rapid response troubleshooting, problem-solving, and technical leadership for complex field challenges.
  • Ensure division-wide adherence to ESI’s safety culture, including high-risk electrical operations, energized work policies, and incident-prevention strategies.

Advanced Technical Oversight, Controls & SCADA

  • Oversee installation, commissioning, and integration of advanced electrical infrastructure, including:
  • Medium- and high-voltage distribution
  • Complex switch gear and MCC configurations
  • Generators, ATS systems, UPS units
  • Automation, PLCs, VFDs, and industrial control systems
  • SCADA system architecture, field device communication, networking, and programming coordination
  • Act as the subject-matter expert for controls logic, system automation, instrumentation, and communication protocols (Modbus, BACnet, Ethernet/IP, etc.).
  • Coordinate with engineers, programmers, integrators, and commissioning agents to ensure proper SCADA functionality, alarming, data acquisition, and system interoperability.
  • Resolve advanced electrical and controls-related issues that impact safety, performance, sequence of operations, or mechanical/electrical integration.
  • Lead detailed testing and commissioning efforts, including system verification, torque audits, megger testing, power-up procedures, SCADA validation, and turnover documentation.
  • Approve complex electrical design changes, evaluate engineered solutions, and review critical RFI and submittal packages for constructability and code compliance.
  • Serve as the highest-level technical resource for NEC interpretation, NFPA 70E compliance, and engineered electrical system requirements.

Project Coordination, Quality, and Compliance

  • Provide executive-level coordination with project managers, general contractors, engineering teams, and owner representatives to ensure project alignment, risk management, and technical compliance.
