Overview / Responsibilites
Massy Wood is currently recruiting for a Commissioning Technician (Electrical/Telecoms/Mechanical) with experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry.
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the execution of the maintenance activities. He/she ensures that work is carried out efficiently and safely in compliance with the company’s technical policies and procedures and HSSE standards and is also responsible for assuring the quality of every job and activity performed.
- Support the Operators in ensuring that all critical equipment for safety, e.g. emergency generators, fire pumps etc. are reliable on demand by using functional tests in accordance with NFPA/ISA standards.
- Report any failure, sub-standard conditions, or incidents affecting mechanical equipment, production or property of the Client to the Team Leader.
- Execute the work packages assigned such that all planned and unplanned work is progressed to a satisfactory completion, in a safe and efficient manner. To this end the use of all available planning tools is vital.
- Effective and timely maintenance of all relevant mechanical equipment.
- Carry out emergency response duties as required.
- Provide valid, accurate and up to date information for the Computerized Maintenance Management System, through detailed documentation of Work Orders.
- Identify all consumables and spares for the discipline, and monitor quantity levels and adequate storage conditions.
- Ensure a safe place of work by complying with Permit to Work (PTW) system and safe working procedure(s).
- Effective and timely maintenance of all relevant mechanical equipment.
- Compliance with Competency assurance assessment requirements.
- Effective troubleshooting and resolution of problems affecting mechanical equipment, torque and lift devices.
- Reading and interpreting Technician Drawings and Layouts.
- Full compliance with Massy Wood Group’s HSSE Policies and Procedures.
- Perform all other related job functions as required.
- Mechanical (MET), Electrical & Electronics Engineering Technology (EEET), or Telecoms Technician’s Diploma or equivalent certification in a related area of study.
- Tropical Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training (TBOSIET).
- OHSA mandatory safety training.
- A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years Oil & Gas experience.
- Excellent level of troubleshooting and operations knowledge.
- Equipment related experience dealing with a variety of micro turbines, valves, reciprocate and centrifugal pumps, compressors, generators, platform cranes and winches for the Oil and Gas industry.
- Ability to manage the Spares and Maintenance manuals.
- Proficient with CBM techniques utilized by the Company e.g Vibration Analysis and Oil Sampling.
- Must be a good communicator, and self-motivated team player.
- Familiar with Computer Applications including word processing and spreadsheet applications (MS Word & Excel), CMMS (Maximo)/SAP.
- Valid Certificate of Good Character (must not be older than 6 months).
- Preference will be given to national citizens or permanent residents of Trinidad & Tobago
