Role:
The Accounting Specialist provides financial services of superior quality and convenience through performing routine, simple accounting clerical operations in accordance with standard procedures for the credit union.
Pay:The pay for this position is $22.19 an hour.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities- Performs routine accounting functions including one or more, but not limited to: accounts payable and receivable general ledger accounting, account reconciliation and billing/payment processing, posting journal entries, and maintaining accounting records and reports.
- Resolves problems in simple recurring assignments in accordance with previous training and experience.
- Verifies accuracy, completeness, and consistency of accounting information received.
- Assists in preparation of various routine and simple financial, regulatory and special reports for month, quarter and year-end closing.
- Collaborates with other departments and/or 3rd party agencies to resolve common problems and answer inquires.
- Contributes to efficient Credit Union operations by performing other job-related duties as assigned.
- Maintains knowledge of all Credit Union products, services, and promotions.
Skills:
Experience:
One year to three years of similar or related experience.
Education:(1) A two-year college degree, or (2) completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or (3) completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or (4) job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program.
OtherSkills:
Position requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must have experience using computers and MS Office software.
