Commercial Client Service Associate I-II
The Commercial Client Service Associate I-II plays a critical role in supporting Commercial Relationship Managers and clients throughout the loan lifecycle. This position is responsible for loan documentation preparation, loan review and maintenance, client service, wire processing, appraisal and title ordering, portfolio administration, and ongoing relationship support. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, client-focused, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced banking environment.
Working in a collaborative team environment, this role serves as a key liaison between commercial clients, lending officers, and internal bank departments to ensure exceptional service, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence.
Essential Functions:
- Deliver exceptional service to commercial clients through timely and professional communication.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with clients, Relationship Managers (RMs), Associate Relationship Managers (ARMs), and internal partners.
- Respond to client inquiries regarding loan status, account maintenance, banking services, and account-related requests.
- Assist in maintaining strong customer relationships through proactive follow-up and support.
- Provide information regarding bank products and services and coordinate referrals when appropriate.
- Prepare requests for new, renewal, and modification loan documentation packages following through to closing until file is complete. May also meet with borrowers to sign new or renewal loan documents.
- Review loan documentation for accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance.
- Coordinate loan closings and ensure files are complete prior to funding.
- Assist borrowers with loan document signing, imaging and closing activities.
- Prepare and maintain commercial loan and real estate documentation, including notes, guarantees, mortgages, deeds of trust, and related documents.
- Monitor and maintain client portfolios to ensure all required financial and collateral information is current.
- Review loan and customer files for completeness and audit readiness and assist with correcting audit exceptions and documentation deficiencies.
- Order appraisals, environmental reports, title commitments, flood determinations, and other due diligence items.
- Process loan-related fees and ensure timely collection and tracking.
- Assist with loan boarding, maintenance, and system updates.
- Process wire transfer requests accurately and timely in accordance with bank policies and procedures.
- Organize, manage, and prioritize workflow to meet deadlines and service commitments.
- Act as a liaison between commercial lending, operations, credit administration, and other bank departments.
- Perform additional duties and projects assigned.
- Organize and prioritize daily workflow in order of importance. Work within generally established guidelines known as "Best Practices" which defines the most efficient way to conduct specific processes.
- Regular, reliable attendance is required.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of business unit's functional areas, such as documentation and processing requirements within Trust administration, corporate lending, commercial/residential real estate lending, or private banking. Specific knowledge of various documentation (Deeds of Trust, Mortgages, Notes, Guarantees, etc) may also be required.
- Accurate keyboarding skills and extensive knowledge of business software programs, including word processing (Microsoft Word), spreadsheet (MS Excel) and database (Access) applications.
- Strong knowledge of M & I for assisting clients' inquiries for balance, payment, and miscellaneous account information.
- Effective time management and ability to prioritize workflow.
- Ability to prioritize work projects.
- Strong interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with diverse groups of people and in a team environment.
