We are currently seeking a dynamic and highly motivated individual for the position of Manager Medical Strategic Operations. This individual will work across therapeutic areas of Biopharma, Women’s Health, and Oncology.
This individual will report to the Sr. Director, Medical Strategic Operations, working to maximize the performance and impact of the business. This role will anticipate, identify, understand, engage in, and support effective prioritization of issues and opportunities across the MA organization and ensure resolution and implementation in a timely and effective manner.
Key Responsibilities Operational Management Leadership- o Work to ensure operational efficiency within Medical Affairs asset teams
- o Manage meeting agendas and actively support Medical Affairs Scientific Teams (MAST)
- o This includes fit for purpose attendance, decision-oriented agendas, capture, tracking and follow up of action items and working with the appropriate colleague(s) to ensure seamless planning and logistics
- o Leading special projects, strategic partner to medical affair strategy teams and seek out and apply learnings for greater efficiency or faster impact and ensuring effective use of resources by maximizing the use of matrixed and enabling function teams
- o Provide strategic and operations support to the medical strategy teams
- o Help address and coordinate resolution of requests from various stakeholders
- o Partner cross-functionally with enabling internal functions and networks, while also partnering externally, as needed, to deliver insights and initiatives.
- o Manage budgets, ensuring alignment, accruals, with financial targets and providing monthly updates to senior leadership.
- o Collaborate with finance for accurate financial reporting and accrual management.
- o Support contract management
- o Partner with alliances on strategic initiatives per agreed on strategy and tactics
- o Manage project life cycle, ensuring on-time and budget-compliant delivery
- o Keep stakeholders informed about project risks, issues, and necessary changes.
- o Provide strategic and tactical input to sub-teams on their medical activities (as needed)
- o Uphold project management best practices.
- o Maintain effective tracking systems and identify areas for process improvement to enhance efficiency and reduce bottlenecks.
- The ability to collaborate with peers, work in matrix organization, and achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.
- Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and healthcare environment; experience in science-based roles is preferred
- Proven leadership skills, executive presence, maturity, emotional intelligence, and written/oral communication skills.
- Familiarity with strategic and operating planning processes
- Interpersonal skills and working in a matrix environment
- Demonstrated Strategic mindset with past example(s) of strategy contributions
