Schedule / Job TypeContract | Nights | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct nursing care in a Level 2B NICU setting, caring for premature infants 32 weeks and greater, late preterm infants, and patients with diagnoses including sepsis, hypoglycemia, NOWS/NAS, and feeding difficulties.
- Manage respiratory support including nasal cannula, high-flow nasal cannula, and CPAP; stabilize patients requiring ventilation prior to transport to a higher level of care.
- Initiate and perform short-term management of titratable drips such as Dopamine and Epinephrine prior to patient transport.
- Perform IV starts and lab draws as part of routine patient care responsibilities.
- Participate in high-risk delivery room resuscitations in collaboration with the charge RN and neonatal NP.
- Float to like NICU units within the valley as needed, accepting assignments consistent with the scope of practice at this unit level.
- Active RN license valid in the state of Idaho or a compact state.
- Current BLS certification.
- Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification.
- Current STABLE certification.
- Current Cardiac STABLE certification.
- Demonstrated experience with delivery room high-risk resuscitation, IV starts, and lab draws in a NICU setting.
- Prior experience in a Level 2 NICU environment caring for late preterm and premature infants.
- Familiarity with CPAP management and short-term drip titration protocols.
- Experience working alongside neonatal nurse practitioners and charge RNs in a high-acuity environment.
- Work in a supportive unit environment with a customized orientation of typically 2–3 shifts, blue scrubs provided, and scheduling accommodations made whenever possible.
- Join a team with 24/7 house supervisor and neonatal NP coverage, offering strong clinical support throughout every shift.
