ICU Nurse, Cardiology
Job Description
Join a specialized telemetry unit in Meridian, Idaho, as a registered nurse for a 12-hour day shift contract spanning 13 weeks. In this role, you will primarily focus on managing patients with cardiac and neurological conditions, including CHF, NSTEMI, STEMI, stroke, sepsis, and respiratory failures. Your responsibilities will include interpreting cardiac drips such as diltiazem and amiodarone, monitoring post‑cath recovery patients, and coordinating with RTs on respiratory equipment like CPAP, BiPAP, and high‑flow systems.
The unit’s nurse‑to‑patient ratio is 1:4, and you will work alongside nurse aides supporting patient care. While this assignment does not require you to take on charge nurse duties or manage patients alone, it offers the opportunity to work with advanced monitor systems transitioning from Space Lab to Philips. The unit requires experience in cardiac drip management, post‑cath recovery, and NIH stroke assessment with a minimum of 2 years in telemetry nursing.
You will read and interpret monitor data every 6 hours and document accordingly. Flexibility is key, as floating to similar units and occasionally to ICU or other facilities is expected, especially if experienced. The environment is fast‑paced yet rewarding, with a chance to develop specialized skills in cardiac and neurological patient management.
