Schedule / Job TypeContract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Full-Time | Onsite
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct nursing care to laboring patients (32 weeks gestation and greater), including those undergoing elective and medical induction of labor, stable antepartum, postpartum, and well newborn patients on a Women's Services unit.
- Circulate in OR suites for cesarean section procedures as part of standard L&D RN responsibilities.
- Perform triage assessments and manage triage patient flow in a dedicated triage area.
- Titrate drips per protocol, including Pitocin, magnesium sulfate, and insulin as needed.
- Utilize electronic fetal monitoring (GE Connect EFM system) in accordance with AWHONN standards, maintaining ratios of 1:1 in L&D and 1:6 couple care in postpartum.
- Float to like Labor and Delivery units within the valley as needed; occasional utilization as a sitter in Med/Surg or ED may occur.
- Active RN licensure in good standing.
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required.
- S.T.A.B.L.E. course completion (at least once) required.
- AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification required.
- Demonstrated experience in Labor and Delivery, postpartum care, and OR circulation.
- Triage experience in a Labor and Delivery setting strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with GE Connect electronic fetal monitoring systems.
- Experience titrating obstetric drips including Pitocin and magnesium sulfate per protocol.
- Work within a well-supported unit featuring 24/7 OB hospitalist coverage, on-call midwives, 24/7 Neonatal NP, CRNA anesthesia, and dedicated Charge RN and Resource RN on every shift — none of whom carry a patient assignment.
- Scrubs are provided on the unit, orientation is customized to each traveler (typically 4–6 shifts), and schedule requests are accommodated to the extent possible within unit needs.
