Main responsibilities:

  • Provide friendly, courteous, and helpful customer service in alignment with company standards
  • Schedule, train, and supervise seafood clerks to ensure optimal staffing levels
  • Implement division‑defined merchandising programs and ensure COOL compliance
  • Interact with customers to resolve issues related to seafood operations
  • Retrieve special‑order items from the case as requested by customers
  • Cut, fillet, wrap, price, date, and label seafood products of varying weights
  • Order required product and supplies; check arriving shipments for completeness and quality
  • Maintain overall product knowledge for department offerings
  • Conduct daily inventory and maintain adequate stock levels
  • Operate electronic scanning scale for packaged items
  • Maintain cleanliness of the seafood area, equipment, and displays
  • Remove expired items daily and follow markdown policies
  • Perform daily temperature, tare checks, and COOL compliance requirements
  • Create signs and tags for displays as needed
  • Monitor interoffice communication channels for updates
  • Adhere to safety policies and all Federal, State, and local laws
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.

  • Leadership and staff supervision abilities.
  • Merchandising execution in alignment with division guidelines.
  • Problem‑solving skills for customer and operational issues.
  • Compliance awareness including COOL and safety regulations.
  • Inventory and stock management proficiency.
  • Ability to analyze operational reports

Knowledge
:

  • Seafood product knowledge including cuts and preparation.
  • Food‑handling safety and sanitation standards.
  • Applicable federal, state, and local laws related to food.
  • Division merchandising and markdown policies.
  • COOL compliance requirements.

Abilities
:

  • Operation of scales and accurate weight‑based pricing.
  • Read, write, follow instructions, and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to lift 5–75 lbs., push/pull 10–50 lbs., and perform physical motions such as gripping and reaching.
  • Ability to maintain focus and productivity under stress.
  • Ability to work varied shifts in a 24‑hour operation.
  • Ability to pass required safety tests and operate department equipment.
