Retail Sales Associate

Part‑time Regular and Seasonal Hourly Retail Associate (NSO)

Pay: $15 per hour. Minimum age: 18 years.

Retail Associates are essential to our business, ensuring product availability, creating eye‑catching displays, handling customer inquiries, and efficiently running checkout processes. They support the Store Leadership team and contribute to the profitability and performance of the store while embodying Columbia Sportswear’s mission of connecting active people with their passions.

• Engage consumers in personalized conversation to understand their needs and preferences.
• Leverage product knowledge to make recommendations and answer questions.
• Use selling techniques and product features to influence buying decisions.
• Act as a Brand Ambassador, sharing the Columbia Sportswear brand story and embodying company values.
• Merchandise products and maintain sales floor standards for full product presentations and accessibility.
• Perform cash register transactions (sales, returns, exchanges) accurately and efficiently.
• Contribute to inventory accuracy by receiving and processing incoming and outgoing products.
• Acquire and apply knowledge of store policies, procedures, and programs.

• No specific education required;
  High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Up to 2 years of experience in a retail or related position.
• Strong interpersonal communication and customer‑service skills.
• Experience operating inventory and point‑of‑sales (POS) systems.
• Physical ability to move up to 40 lbs and frequently work in a dynamic environment.
• Availability to work a flexible retail schedule, including seasonal changes.

The position is in a fast‑moving retail environment that may involve physical tasks, use of specialized equipment, and exposure to dust and noise. All local, state, and federal laws are followed regarding work hours and conditions.
