Why This Role Matters

At Mana Resources, we believe healing, growth, and independence happen through patience, consistency, and genuine human connection. Since 2008, we’ve supported young people transitioning out of foster care and juvenile corrections—walking alongside them as they learn to trust themselves, build life skills, and imagine a future that feels possible.

This isn’t just a job:
It’s an opportunity to be a calm, understanding presence for young adults (ages 18–19) who are stepping into independent living for the first time, often after experiencing significant instability or trauma.

About the Role

As a Mentor, you’ll be someone they can rely on: someone who listens, encourages, and believes in their ability to grow. Your role is not to “fix,” but to support, guide, and model healthy adulthood.

You’ll help young adults
  • Learn practical independent living skills like budgeting, cooking, cleaning, and self-care
  • Establish healthy daily routines and personal responsibility
  • Prepare for employment and understand workplace expectations
  • Build emotional regulation, communication, and social skills
  • Develop confidence, self-worth, and decision-making abilities
  • Most importantly, you’ll offer patience, consistency, and understanding, even on hard days.
Who We’re Looking For
  • Calm, patient, and emotionally grounded
  • Able to meet youth where they are without judgment
  • Comfortable offering structure while remaining compassionate
  • Reliable, consistent, and supportive
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, registration, and insurance (Mileage reimbursed)
  • CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain (we’ll help!)
  • A heart for working with young adults and belief in their ability to succeed
Why Work at Mana?
  • Supportive, mission-driven team culture
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Paid mileage
  • Performance reviews at 90 days and annually
  • Real opportunities for growth, we promote from within
  • Work that truly matters
