Job SummaryYou will safely and efficiently transport food, product, and supplies in all weather conditions, develop and maintain donor relationships with excellent customer service skills, and assist warehouse operations.
Responsibilities- Safely pick up and deliver local and extended orders and donations using a tractor‑truck.
- Assist in training on vehicle and equipment safety best practices.
- Maintain all current licenses, certificates, and medical cards in compliance with state and federal requirements.
- Serve as a secondary driver for timely execution of product pick‑ups and deliveries from program partners and agencies.
- Complete accurate documentation for shipping, receiving, unloading, and warehousing of product.
- Perform cleaning and light maintenance on all vehicles and equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle operations and maintenance daily.
- Prepare trucks/routes for next day’s business, including refueling, maintenance checks, and equipment cleaning.
- Conduct pre‑ and post‑trip inspections and complete vehicle inspection reports.
- Work cooperatively with other team members and provide assistance and coverage for other positions.
- Assist in maintaining an orderly and sanitary warehouse in accordance with AIB standards.
- Load and unload company vehicles as required while exercising safe lifting practices.
- Maintain rapport with donors and their employees to foster support and professional relationships.
- Inspect product donations to ensure safety and sanitation standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities
- High School Diploma.
- Proven ability to safely drive and operate a semi‑truck/trailer.
- Defensive driving record with a current DMV printout showing no moving violations.
- Class A CDL license with a minimum of one year related experience.
- Commit to Serv Safe certification and food safety principles.
- Experience driving a box truck, automatic and standard vehicles, and operating standard warehouse equipment.
- Basic maintenance and repair ability for delivery equipment.
- Assistance in operating pallet jacks, forklifts, and dock levelers.
- Will become forklift certified.
- Strong commitment to safe work practices, especially road/vehicle safety.
- Professional appearance required.
- Able to lift 20–100 pounds occasionally and up to 50 pounds frequently using safe lifting techniques.
- Approx. two‑thirds of the time spent walking, sitting, squatting, bending, twisting, and reaching at various heights.
- Approx. one‑third of the time spent pushing or pulling, lifting large items, and operating in confined spaces.
- Work inside freezers and coolers with temperatures between –10 and 38°F.
- Commitment to quality record keeping, customer service, and operational efficiency.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to work well with other staff and relate to donors and agency representatives.
- Competent communication skills, speaking with poise, voice control, and confidence.
