Driver's Helper Responsibilities

The driver’s helper is responsible for assisting the driver in all day‑to‑day activities, including but not limited to loading and unloading the truck and any additional duties needed for the driver.

• Accurately load the daily route onto the truck
• Scan the daily route onto the truck
• Assist driver with navigating to deliveries
• Assist driver with carrying freight to a business or residence destination
• Utilize the manifest to pull route, stage freight, and assist drivers with loading and unloading trucks
• Handle material tasks such as picking, packing, scanning, kitting, counting products, and other duties
• Ensure timeliness, packaging, and system work is completed accurately
• Identify and annotate overages, shortages, and damages (OS&D)
• Safely operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks
• Read and follow detailed instructions in a fast‑paced environment
• Maintain a safe and secure work environment in accordance with TSA and OSHA guidelines
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Ability to read a map and possess general geographic knowledge of the area
• Ability to lift 75 lbs unassisted (also able to lift 50+ lbs unassisted)
• Good customer service skills
• Ability to work overtime as needed
• Strong comprehension of work instructions
• Team player with minimal supervision required
• High attention to detail
• Excellent English communication skills (speak, read, write)

The position requires standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, bending, and lifting objects above the head. Employees must regularly lift/move up to 50 pounds and use pallet jacks and forklifts. Regular use of phone, PC, and shipping documents is required.
