Part-Time Administrative Assistant, Red Clay Hills District (Meridian, MS)
The Red Clay Hills District of the Mississippi Conference of The United Methodist Church is seeking a qualified and detail-oriented individual to serve as administrative assistant. This position supports the mission and ministry of the district through administrative excellence, communication and hospitality.
Position OverviewThe Administrative Assistant provides comprehensive administrative and organizational support to the District Superintendent and district leadership. This role is vital to maintaining effective communication, supporting district ministries, and ensuring smooth daily office operations.
Work Schedule and Compensation- Schedule:
Monday–Thursday, 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. - Hours:
20 hours per week - Annual Salary negotiated based on experience.
- Administrative Support
- Provide direct support to the District Superintendent and district leadership
- Maintain district calendar and coordinate meetings
- Prepare correspondence, reports, and official communications
- Office Management
- Answer phones and greet visitors with professionalism and hospitality
- Maintain office supplies, filing systems, and records
- Process incoming mail and distribute appropriately
- Data and Records
- Maintain clergy, church, and district records
- Manage conference databases and reporting systems
- Prepare charge conference materials and documentation
- Communications
- Manage district communications to churches and clergy
- Maintain website, social mediaand e-newsletter
- Assist with design and publication of materials
- Events and Coordination
- Support district events, trainings and meetings
- Assist with annual conference preparation and registration
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general office technology
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Familiarity with The United Methodist Church preferred (or willingness to learn)
- Occasional evening/weekend responsibilities
- Travel for district events (mileage reimbursed)
- Six-month probationary period
