Assistant Service Manager (CRC)

Commitment to a 4 on/4 off rotating schedule with day shifts running 5:00 AM – 5:30 PM, with support for shift transitions before and after scheduled hours, including weekends and potential day/night rotation.

• Supervise and coordinate a team of shop-based service technicians to ensure all set-up, overhaul, and rebuild operations meet high quality and customer satisfaction standards while complying with regulatory requirements and maintaining safety.
• Document and administer accountability measures, recognize team performance, write performance reviews, and assign tasks to facilitate and monitor employee training.
• Lead the preparation of customer quotes and collaborate with the Service Planner and Product Support Sales representative to ensure timely, accurate job processing in the company’s billing system, including posting technician timecards, ordering parts, expediting service schedules, and performing related reporting and filing.
• Administer warranty and goodwill determinations in accordance with company policy and metrics.
• Attend daily meetings with the service management team and update the management information system (DBS) and stakeholders on work in progress.
• Engage personnel to inspire and embed a culture of safety, enforcing high standards for housekeeping and safe work practices.

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required; associate or higher degree in sales, business administration, or related discipline preferred.
• 6–8 years of experience as a service technician in an automotive or truck engine repair shop, or retail parts/parts sales experience, with a minimum of 2–4 years dedicated supervisory experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend moderately difficult computer-based schematics, specifications, service and parts literature, technical bulletins, safety manuals, and related publications.
• Solid mechanical systems knowledge of diesel engines, electrical systems, and hydraulic systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), Salesforce, and the AS400 system.
• Refined customer relations, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• A hands‑on leadership style that motivates and optimizes team effectiveness.
• Ability to collaborate with all levels of staff and management, mentor direct reports, and resolve customer service conflicts professionally.
