Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Fiber Inspector with strong underground construction and OSP background to support a large‑scale fiber build. This role is ideal for individuals who understand boring operations, fiber placement, and fiber network architecture, and who excel at communicating with construction crews and stakeholders. WhatYou’ll Do
- Oversee underground fiber construction, particularly boring operations and conduit placement
- Communicate with stakeholders and project personnel to provide updates without requiring onsite presence
- Coordinate closely with construction supervisors to ensure timelines and project expectations are met
- Attend virtual meetings to review project scope, design updates, and construction requirements
- Provide daily and weekly feedback on contractor performance, progress, and any field issues
- Verify contractor compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements
- Report safety concerns, incidents, or operational issues to management
- Review and verify contractor invoices, materials, units, and labor hours
- Ensure contractors submit accurate as‑built and redline drawings
- Support work order closeout, ensuring all documentation is complete
- Prepare and submit weekly progress reports and monthly production and issue logs
- Strong understanding of underground boring operations, specifically as they relate to fiber and conduit placement
- Experience with OSP construction and field inspection work
- Knowledge of fiber network architecture and underground telecommunications pathways
- Ability to communicate effectively with construction crews, supervisors, and project stakeholders
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple crews across a wide geographic area
- Dependable, safety‑focused work ethic with strong attention to detail
- Experience with OSP fiber design or construction
- Familiarity with fiber optic cable, splicing workflows, or telecom construction
- Previous experience supporting large‑scale fiber infrastructure projects

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Meridian, MS.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $38.00 - $45.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
