Position SummaryAs the Senior Superintendent, you will be the primary job site supervisor with operational responsibility for employees involved in the installation, alteration, addition, and/or repair of mechanical / HVAC systems, equipment, and associated materials and equipment for large, typically ground up projects requiring complex coordination of multiple subordinate supervisors and crews.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Supervise the operations on the construction sites, responsible for all CEC staff on job.
- Manage large projects of more than twenty-five persons.
- Be able to mentor and counsel employees
- Does a working estimate and take-off jointly with the Project Manager.
- Responsible for quality control and coordination with all other trades.
- Establishes work schedules and man-loading charts.
- Interacts with representatives of the General Contractor on project scheduling and overall performance issues.
- Provides general supervision to subordinate supervisors and foreman.
- Monitors work as performed, directs subordinate supervisors and crews, and schedules work according to the pace of the job and other trades.
- Handles or oversees the disposition of required office correspondence and administrative paperwork such as official forms, daily reports, time sheets/tickets, safety reports, etc.
- Is responsible overall project safety performance. Assures employees are properly trained or instructed in performance of duties to which assigned.
- Assures compliance with all CEC safety processes and protocols. Investigates or assists in investigation and reporting of any accident or safety incidents involving jobsite employees.
- Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient and effective processes, completion of projects and smooth operation of department.
- Minimum 7 years' or more of experience running large mechanical projects in commercial/industrial construction.
- High School Graduate, GED, or equivalent.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong believer in Safety.
- Must have a current Driver's License, own reliable transportation
- Must meet attendance standards and comply with late/absence notification procedures.
- Must be able to pass drug and background check
May work inside or outside. Possible exposure to hot and cold temperatures, in all-weather elements such as rain, heat, cold and snow. This position also requires work at extreme heights, in areas that are under construction, or in restricted areas such as a switch gear room, manhole, utility tunnel, crawl space, or attic, in confined spaces, and on slippery or uneven surfaces;
works on ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, in ditches and excavations; works in and around single and multi-story buildings with all exposures typical of a heavy construction site, including portable sanitary facilities.
